Abstract

Society is an element that will receive the impact of changes that will occur in the environment. Acceptability is public acceptance of a change that will occur. In recent years, Bangka Belitung Archipelago has been selected as potential sites for PLTN Development Plan, especially on Bangka Island, namely Sebagin Village, South Bangka and Air Putih Village, West Bangka. The purpose of this study is to determine the community's acceptability of the PLTN development plan in Sebagin Village, West Bangka and Air Putih Village, West Bangka. This study uses theories, namely McLeod and Chaffee's Co-Orientation Theory which explains that there is a dynamic. This research used descriptive quantitative descriptive approaches. The primary data source is from a questionnaire with a total of 79 respondents, divided into 40 people in Sebagin Village and 39 people in Air Putih Village. The main finding in this study is to explain the community's acceptability of the PLTN development plan. In addition, it was also found the role of the elite and the mass media in the community's acceptance of the PLTN development plan in Sebagin Village, South Bangka and Air Putih Village, West Bangka.
